The Carbon Credit Double Dipping Begins - The Challenge of CO2 and Sustainable Civilizations

As folks like the Nobel Peace Prize Winner and Former Vice President Al Gore tout the carbon credit trading schemes, we must also realize the reality of the supply chain, materials and production of every product or service created. If carbon credits were being traded by Enron Corporation they would have lobbied hard for laws to help themselves to piles of cash.

 If you look good and hard at the Carbon Credit Trading concepts you can see similar issues to double taxation and double dipping by those companies that trade in the scheme. For instance, if a company makes a product and curtails the production they are polluting less. But since they do not order supplies and parts to create it, they will have credits available for lowering their pollution output.

The company that would have normally made the product also gets credits, yet now will not produce it. The company that delivers it will pollute less, thus get credits and the person who did not cut down the tree to make into pulp to sell to the packaging company, gets a credit. All this will create scarcity of certain products or the production of certain services like energy. Scarcity raises prices for all like a tax on human civilizations and society.

Meanwhile as prices climb, standard of living drops and all those who have polluted in the past will keep making money for doing nothing - subsidies. All in a carbon credit scheme that will limit production, trade non-existent vapor and increase inflation. And all this is suppose to help human civilizations? Since when has hyper-inflation, increased taxes, scarcity of necessities and lower standards of living ever helped any human civilization in the past 10,000 years of written recorded history asks Lance.
