Energy, Money and the Future of the New World Order

How long the disarray? When will the leaders of the USA lead? When will all those economically viable energy options be set in motion? When will the energy wars stop being confused with everything else? When will the ecology become more than a sewer for forty years of "cleaner" energy?

How Big is BIG OIL? It must be bigger than any country or group of countries. It must be bigger than all the think tanks and strategists. It must be bigger than armies or religions. It is so big that it threatens to revisit coal, set nation against nation, push the planet into irreversible ecological trends - already set in motion.

How much bigger will it get? Is there a limit? Will we ever get any more than a "happy face" blurb on television from an oil company while body bags are back-ordered from "political" hot spots? What? It's not quite as bad as Viet Nam was, yet. Viet Nam is a happy member of OPEC now, and we're good friends, right?

How long?

Why isn't the federal government subsidizing wind farms and solar panel farms. Why can't citizens get interest free loans for solar panels or generators to hook up to their own windmill. Are oil wells and coal mines a good idea? Dare we to think about the possibility of a much better idea?

We subsidize farmers to beat out sales over second and third world farmers - those farmers could also produce energy - NOT the carbon-based kind. We have landbanks, tree farms, and every other farm - - EXCEPT for clean energy. I know, I know, President Bush used the "plug-in car" phrase in his State of the Union. But, we need a little more than a once a year phrase.

How about "A Thousand Points of Light" energy production plan? Why not subsidies for electric auto production, sales, and purchase? How about tax deductions and credits for solar panels, generators, windmill kits?

How long?

Where are the young Henry Fords of clean energy? Are Israel, the USA, China, India, Europe, Russia, OPEC, and the Middle East all on the same page for the consumption of BIG OIL? Maybe they could all get on the same page for the future of this planet, and humankind?

How long?

Is BIG OIL getting more expensive, more toxic, more deadly? Is the cost of regulating, deregulating, litigating, taxing, subsidizing, finding, refining, transporting, strategically reserving, capitalizing, and protecting BIG OIL getting higher?

How long?

Someone, somewhere ought do something? You? Why don't you email your Congressman, Senator, Mayor, Governor, President, CEOs? If you get no word back, does that tell you something? Maybe a little campaign blab, or serious throat-clearing? Why don't you just get the picture? Or, are you BIG OIL?
